Dana Edwards 11/30/03 Narrative writing assignment
I’m drifting along, looking at all the pretty little fishes and beautiful coral, and BOOM! I’m slammed onto a big wire fence, like a bird on a glass door. The strong current slowly pushing me closer to the inside of this mass of wire. Then I look forward, and huge sharks and fish are staring at me with their evil eyes. The only thing between the ravenous sharks and me is a gigantic fish trap! What am I supposed to do? Once I am inside the trap, there is no way swimming out. I try and pull myself along the fence, against the current. I grab onto the wire in front of me, and there is a sharp pain in my hand. I see blood coming out of my hand. The sharks are now staring at the big cut on my hand, sniffing the blood with their bloodthirsty noses. My sister drifts past me, and I catch her hand before she is sucked in to the pit of doom. Now both of us are holding on to the fence, my grip slipping. Finally, just before my hands are about to give way, I see a propeller coming towards us in the water. Hands reach down towards us, and pull us onto the boat. We are safe at last.
This is a true story.
