Nana Biography

I was followed. I could see the car, they’d be parked down the street. He would do the most horrible things, it was so unlike him. He called and asked to take the kids out, of course I wanted them to see their father. He would take them out with her. Then he would come back, and Leonard would say, “mother, it’s all right for Sam and need to go, but I don’t think Bruce should go. “Bruce was a little boy, five. Because Clyde picked him up and holds him in her lap, and she tells him that she loves him more than you do. Well, I was like a tiger then. So I called my lawyer and asked, do I have to allow these visits?  , “absolutely not. “So we denied the visits if she was along. This sent Dan into an absolute tizzy. Then I was served with some papers, as soon as they got married – they got married the day the divorce was final.

So that was a year later. 

Yes, I was served with some papers. In the meantime, I had met this ex-husband who had been released from the veterans hospital and he wasn’t, but he told me all about their life and it was awful. They were going to demand the kids six months of each year. Well, I don’t know, suddenly I felt that I just couldn’t allow my children to be in that woman’s house. So we went to court, Don’s father, my maid, my best friend we all went to court.

Don’s father. His mother just couldn’t take it, but his father came, and we all sat there, the court scene was incredible. Don and Clyde came in. You can’t imagine. 

Where was this, in San Jose? 

No, it was in Redwood City, because we were living in Woodside. And Don took the stand on his own behalf.  My lawyer was smart enough to tell somebody ahead of time who got to the judge the whole story. So Don got up on the stand and he said, he had a home now and he was married and he wanted to be able to have part custody of the children, he wanted all vacations and this and that and the other.
