So let’s – let’s try this business. We thought about it a lot, and we talked about it a lot, and we talked to a lot of dealers there, and it just seemed that we would be gambling a little bit, but not all of it, and we did. We took some money and bought some art, and that was how it started.
Was it something about a woman that you met or…?
Yes. I had a friend there, a young person, whose husband was in the Max Planck, and that’s how I met him, and she did all the writing for the events, the cultural events for Time and Life, and so she had tickets to everything. And she would call me up and say, “look, I would just love for you to go with me. “And so we were going.
Did you know her from before?
No, she was a Polish Jewess, and she was an American, well, she was from Poland I guess, but she spoke perfect English, and her husband was German, and looked like you know a real German. It was kind of an interesting marriage.their divorce now. She was very career minded, I think, and he, he wasn’t enough into his career – he’d rather play the violin.
They are divorced now. She was very career minded, I think, and he, he wasn’t enough into his career – he’d rather play the violin. He could’ve been a concert violinist, which was very sad, because we saw them this last trip, separately, and it’s a shame, because they’re both nice people. Anyway, she gave me the opportunity, and told me about the different things, and artists, and on and on. I had an advantage of seeing a lot of through her eyes, too.
Oh, you went along with with her shows and things?
Quite a bit.
Was she very knowledgeable?
Yes.
