Nana Biography

Ray Wilbur was alive, and he joined, the president of Stanford. It was the thing, to be a world federalist, and those days. And until the McCarthy era. We always had a chapter chairman, we were raising money in San Francisco, I was there with my high heels shoes on going around and getting money. 

What was the goal of this, sort of like a UN kind of thing? 

Well, what they wanted was limited world, federal government.  With a limited police force, where you could go into the country and arrest the individual not the country, for manufacturing weapons for mass destruction.  And it was very hard to convince the United States, but about 40 other countries had signed the agreement.

This was right after World War II? 

And then the United Nations came, and it was never given any teeth. This was to put some teeth there. And some of the greatest mines in our country cousins, of course, was the president for years, and so on. And we went, when Jon and I were married, we were married April 1, that following June, we went to Europe, and there was a marvelous meeting of the world parliamentarians of the world, federal government, and the United world federalists , we were asked to be representatives, because we happened to be there and say they said, “we represent this organization? “And there were lots of government organizations in many countries. And many parliamentarians were, had 20 members of the Japanese Japanese diet came, and we went to that. And we were in Copenhagen, where it was held. We gave a reception – it was in the headlines of the paper every day and said, “if that had been held in the United States, we wouldn’t have heard about it, even.“
