We both played tennis. I’m trying to think of what else. We danced. He was a good dancer. John can’t dance with a damn.
He always plays the piano.
Yes, I know, but I never get to dance with him, and I’d love to, you know. Don and I used to go out dancing at night.
So that’s something probably that you haven’t done for years.
Yes, that’s all I did is, and I miss that. I loved to dance. But it’s not something that burns me up, or anything like that. The other thing is a lot of people in Kentucky, they all said, “this guy you married, does he like horses? “Well, neither one of them knew a horse from a mule, you know , so that was a part of my life. That was a good part vanished.
And how do you feel about that?
I don’t mind, because unless the other guy is into it, how good is it? There’s enough else.
But you had a whole lot invested in…
Oh, my whole life, sure. I mean, if I’d married a horseman, I’m sure that we would have lived out in Woodside and all that business. But it doesn’t matter.
And you’re not interested – you haven’t done it in years?
No, I haven’t done it in years. I’ve been on a horse two times since I married. It’s not important, as long as you have something else to substitute for it. It’s really not. I think you adjust to those things like that, I know I do.
Do you ever sort of resented or anything? Or just sort of go with it.
