You were more so.
Oh yes, yes. Especially after John came in, because he hugs and kisses them now, you should see them. They’re just darling when they get together.
That’s neat.
So, there’s a lot, we made up for a lot of lost time there.
Was that the way it was with Don?
No. I think we were very affectionate. We really were. Extremely so with his parents, too. I just love them. He was, he was affectionate, now that I see what there is, I guess there was something missing, but I can’t put my finger on it. So, I don’t know what else there is that happened except that I got started in this business and ever since, it’s just like a miracle, the way it worked. We both love it, it’s been stimulating, and that it constantly brings in some new people and new things in our lives, and we like that part of it.
I’m not an intellectual in the sense that I’m going to, you know, I thought I’d get my degree but I’m not going to. This takes the place of going through the college experience. And, what happens now, moving into an academic life like I have I really felt at first that I was going to be an outsider, that I wouldn’t fit, and I can remember Moffett Hancock always coming up to me at parties and saying, “well, what did the junior league do today? “and I used to resent that. It was not very nice about it, but most people accepted me pretty well, I mean not every man on this campus is married to a lawyer. More and more are, I see. But at first, I was a little nervous, moving into that kind of life.
