Nana Biography

My cousin was with my father, and I went with my mother, and they got the stories. And of course, Monica told the absolute truth. And I said that we’d just been out in the barn carrying the ponies. I mean, I did lie, I was very clever at stealing money out of my mother’s purse.  

I haven’t told you all the naughty things I did as a child, but I do remember, I remember playing Strip poker with little boys and doing strip bowling, there were a lot of little boys in the area that were my social status, and there were also some farmers kids, and one of them was always trying to folk me – we called it faulk - thought it was faulk For years, I now know it’s fuck, but he would keep begging me, it was maybe 14 or 15 years old and I was like 12. Well, I knew enough about life in general to say no, I wouldn’t, but I was terribly intrigued. And he would pull his little penis out and show it to me, and so I saw all this play gutter stuff constantly with people, but I was, it was not for me, and I never did become, and I never did anything except that I was stripped all the time and stripped poker games, but that never seemed to bother me, I mean, nobody dared a finger on me, they wouldn’t touch me, and so there was a little boy that owned a goat, and a goat cart, Homer Gratis was his name, you know all these strange little people. We used to go and we we in a can, and put it beside the road and hope that somebody would come and think it was ginger ale or something. I mean, we were like eight or nine years old, but things like that constantly, I so often think that so many kids are so protected and never had a chance to do all those terrible little things. His parents wouldn’t let him any more (laughs). it was just grand and I believe that’s why my family sent me away to the convent.
