And you see people going – I think waste like that just drives me crazy. Wasting food. Peeling things and throwing all the peels away. I never do that. All the peels are put in sacks, and when I make stock, I put the peels in the stock pot. All the vitamins are in there and so there it is. Carrot, peels, potato, peels, everything. I learned that along time ago. But that’s, that’s just not wasting, that’s sensible. But most people don’t do it here in this country, they’ve never had to. So, that’s one characteristic, which sometimes, is a little more trouble. You know, saving, and all that. And also, I think some people think that it’s a little stingy. And I’m not. I’m not a bit stingy, I love to give presents and do all those things. But I think the American system right now is in trouble from waste, so those things concern me. Ecology.
Today was Sunday, did you know it? And on all the television programs today all over the country, Jane Fonda was talking about, was trying to get the government to put money into using the sons energy rather than other things. So I guess I’m getting, I guess I could characterize myself as, one time sold on an idea of pushing it a little hard, and sometimes I think I’ve made myself a little unpopular. Especially when the united world federalists, when peace comes to our country, not the Vietnam war, the Korean War, I really worked for the world, federalist, and made people come to speeches, and made people listen to them, and finally somebody called me a true believer, and I guess that was a good criticism. But once I was convinced of something I would really work at it. Now, as I’ve gotten older, I don’t work at it as hard. I think it’s useless. I think people are, more realistic about projects, but I still am committed to many things.
I was very committed as a young person to the black question in the south, because my father would – wasn’t incredible man, my stepfather.
