Irv is a fervent - one might say "rabid" - anti-Trumper. I receive four or more emails from him every day, all dedicated to exposing the lies of Trump and the MAGA Republicans. He gets much of his material from Brian Tyler Cohen, rsn.org, This F*cking Guy, the Daily Kos, and other left wing sites. But now and then he creates his own material, and gets it printed in one of the local publications. Here are two examples, printed in the San Mateo Daily Journal:

Thin-skinned Republicans can't distinguish between political rhetoric and truly violent rhetoric. Remember how Trump called Nancy Pelosi "dangerous" and "evil", then mocked the hammer attack on Pelosi's husband? The attacker cited Trump... that's violent rhetoric.
Yet Scott Ambramson blames the Trump rally shooting on Biden's "violent rhetoric" by him calling Trump “a threat to our democracy, a threat to our freedom, and a threat to our nation" and for calling Trump supporters "MAGA semifascists". Unfortunately, they're accurate depictions of a man who frequently quotes Hitler and states he'll be a dictator on Day One .
Writer Ed Kahl wrote that Biden inspired the shooter despite the fact that he was a Republican, his family supported Trump, he was a gun fanatic and had profiles of three possible targets on his smartphone: Trump, FBI Director Wray and AG Merrick Garland. It's obvious that Trump's violent rhetoric against both men put them in the crosshairs too.
Since 9/11, 134 people have been killed by far-right-wing shooters and 1 by the far-left. The source of truly violent rhetoric should be obvious.

"I submitted this to the Mercury News and the San Mateo Daily Journal, but only the Journal printed it. It won't change Republican minds (assuming they have one), but it feels good to vent":

Regarding Hunter Biden, less than 0.09% of people are charged, prosecuted and found guilty of lying on a gun form. In other words, had his name been Hunter Smith the odds he'd be charged were nonexistent. Similarly, his IRS payments and fines were resolved, and thus virtually never result in further legal action. To claim this is anything but a political attack on the Biden family is simply absurd.
It's obvious that Biden was forced to recant on his promise when Trump nominated Kash Patel. Patel ranted and raved for the past four years on every right-wing podcast that he was going to get Hunter Biden even for things he has never been prosecuted for, and Biden took that threat literally.
Remember, Trump pardoned Paul Manafort, Michael Flynn, Roger Stone, Steve Bannon and many others despite them having committed treasonous acts and crimes. Trump also pardoned his son-in-law's father Charles Kushner, a convicted felon who Trump has now nominated as our Ambassador to France, so there goes another alliance.
I think those pathetic Democrats who condemned Biden's decision should also called out as what they are - spineless. However, the final irony is a Trump supporter calling Biden a liar.

This guy really pissed me off in today's (Nov 19, 2024) San Mateo Daily Journal, so I had to respond. Comments and changes welcome.
Brian Wright's original letter is attached if you're curious.
=============================================
Editor,
I feel sorry for people like letter writer Brian Wright (letters to the editor Nov. 19 and Dec. 9). Bash Trump all you want, Mr. Wright. The ultimate fact is, Trump won by a 50% to 48%, or 77 million to 74 million popular vote. Close? Of course, Mr. Wright, but he still won the majority of the popular vote, as well as a 312 to 226 electoral victory.
Move on, sir. You’re sad, (to this writer) continued whining is embarrassing.
Take the high road. Mr. Wright, and hope for the best in 2028.

====================== MY RESPONSE ========================
Editor:
Bob Wackerman's response to Brian Wright's spot-on observations regarding Donald Trump is yet another example of how amazingly thin-skinned and hypocritical he and most Republicans are. Other than having a hissy fit and calling him a "whiner", Wackerman didn't refute a single point on Wright's descriptive list.
When Senate Republican Majority Leader Mitch McConnell blamed Trump for the Jan. 6 insurrection, calling him "stupid, ill-tempered, a despicable human being", I don't recall seeing any LTEs from Wackerman or other Republicans deriding McConnell. Yet they have no problem calling Biden a crook, a liar and a moron - and yes, that does apply, just not to Biden.
Wackerman is also bad at math, claiming that Trump won by a 50% to 48% margin and a majority of the popular vote. In fact, Trump won 49.83% of the popular vote. That's a plurality, not a majority, so more people voted for someone other than Trump than voted for him. If there ever was a mandate, this isn't it.
As Trump dismantles our government agencies and the wheels come off our nation's wagon, be assured it won't be just Democrats doing the "whining".
