This is Water Boy. He met me the day before, was intrigued with the whole idea of hiking from Mexico to Canada, and showed up the next morning, ready to join me. I gve him the trail name of Water Boy because he carried a gallon of water.
He made a den (burrow?) to sleep in the first night. We parted ways when we reached the Columbia River - a delightful companion.
