In October 2023, at the annual Pumpkin Festival in Half Moon Bay (The Pumpkin Capital of the World), Travis Gienger set the record at the 50th World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off with a pumpkin weighing 2,749 pounds. This is heavier than my Honda Fit (2,553 pounds).
And on the way to Half Moon Bay, along Highway 1, there are plenty of pumpkins for sale, of all sizes and shapes:
