Lovely day on the road, with lots of stuff to see:
Bosta Iron Age House (AD 400-800). Discovered in 1992 when a violent storm exposed ancient stone structures buried under the sand:
Norse Mill and Kiln
The Shieling at Brenish. A Shieling is a simple stone or turf hut used in summer when families moved their livestock to higher pastures:
Norse Mill and Kiln. A reconstructed pair of traditional Norse-era buildings used for grinding grain (the mill) and drying grain before grinding (the kiln):
Steinacleit Cairn and Stone Circle. A Steinacleit is s prehistoric site consisting of a large, low cairn made of stones, surrounded by a circular if standing stones. Their dates are not certain.
The Butt of Lewis the most northernmost point of the Isle of Lewis:
And then, back to Stornoway, where I spotted Lews Castle:
... and a second night in in my Airbnb.
