Of course, no visit to Inverness would be complete without a search for the Loch Ness Monster. It was first spotted January 5, 1934, by a local man, Arthur Grant, while motorcycling back to his home from Inverness. It has been spotted and photographed many times since the. Unfortunately, I was only able to see a statue of her:
I went on cruise of the Loch Ness, with a short stop at Uruqhart Castle on its banks. It dates from the 13th century. Now in ruins, it was partially destroyed in 1692 to prevent its use by Jacobite forces. It is a common spot for Loch Ness Monster sightings.
