The next day, a long drive from Edinburgh to Inverness. But first went to pick up my reserved car at the airport: $385. However, they refused to me: I was told that I was too old to rent the car. So I went to another car rental agency at the airport, which was happy to rent me a car with no age restriction, but at five times the price. The same thing happened to me in Ireland. Scam?
I first stopped at Scone Palace, near Perth:
It is the site of royal coronations, including Robert the Bruce in 1306 and Charles II in 1651. Included is a replica of the Scottish Crown:
