2025 Trip: Bird Rock, Newfoundland

I drove to Bird Rock, at Cape Saint Mary's, on Friday. Foggy, but pretty amazing. You could get next to the rock along a trail with irises everywhere:
But the view was disappointing:
Never mind: I returned the next day, and the fog was gone:
Bird Rock is one of North America's largest northern gannet colonies. It also has murres, kittiwakes, and razorbills.

The next day I took the car ferry to North Sydney (16 hours), drove to Halifax, left my car at the airport, and slept at the HFX airport hotel (with a swimming pool!). My connecting flight to Quebec City the next day was delayed, so I was rebooked (for free) on a direct flight to Toronto. The only downside: a four hour wait for my flight: which makes my overall time at the Halifax airport to be eight hours: a new record.
In Toronto I decided to have an acupuncture session (my first) to treat seasickness, in preparation for the coming ocean passages in the Greenland and Arctic trip. It turns out it was not needed: we had perfect weather and calm seas for the entire trip.
