Sep 18, 2016.  Belmond Hotel, Machu Picchu, Peru.

• Len and I take the early train to Aguas Callientes, then the bus to Machu Picchu.  Checked into the Belmond Hotel ($1500 a night!), and off to MP by 8 AM.  We beat the crowd!  Climbed all over the place, then hiked the Inca Drawbridge trail, as well as the Intipunku Trail - a bit of a slog, but great views.  

• By now MP is filling up, and we are happy to return to our hotel and meet up with Bruce and Che, who took a later train.  Took Che out for a later afternoon look at MP - very few visitors, partly because it was raining slightly, but gorgeous in the mist.  Wonderful light.  Pisco Sour tasting at the bar, then a big fat dinner and bed at the usual early hour.
