Sep. 25, 2016. Night bus Cusco > Nazca.
Quick visit to the famous Sunday mercado - mostly tourist stuff, some of it pretty good - but I wonder, with so many stalls, how the locals make any money off the tourists who visit for the day from Cuzco. I attended the 11 AM service in the church, preceded by locals dolled up in cool outfits in the courtyard, with youngsters taking turns blowing on conch cells. Sort of nice, but a hat was regularly passed among the tourists. The service itself was held in Quechua, and attended by a few locals - but not many.
Took a collectivo back to Cusco, and then the bus to Nazca. A great bus ride in one of the wonderful two-decker types they use for long distance connections. I chose the cheapest seat type, in the upper level, for the same price as a hotel room in Cuzco. My seat was in the very front, so a great view until the sun went down.
Some nice imitation Inca "gold" jewelry for sale at the market

Relaxing in the Pachacutec Park, Cusco
Great bus, with great seats, to Nazca
