12-1-17 San Andrés Tuxtla, Tabasco, Hotel San Andrés
Buses all day - and still with an upset stomach, so nothing much to eat except yoghurt and some peanut bar thingy. First stop: Santiago Tuxtla, to see the largest monolito cabeza Olmec (40 tons) in the main plaza, and the smallest in the Museo Regionale Tuxtleco. Then on to San Andrés Tuxtla, right next door, where things were popping. A parade of young folk playing drums and trumpets, some giant paper mache figures, and a car with a lit up image of a saint (?) on top passed by my balcony. In the plaza nearby, a theatrical performance culminating in a figure of Christ on the cross. And the guide books said this city wasn’t worth a stop!
