Couldn’t take $5000 out of Bancomer, but succeeded with $3000.
Hotel quite nice, big room, swimming pool in center. Payed for room with Visa: $1572. Walked to Cenote Zaci right in town, with same name as town’s Maya name.
Decided to splurge with a dinner at Adele’s (Christmas Eve, right). I’m the only one in the restaurant. Loud Mexican music, TV’s showing American football, Xmas lights all over the place. Crema de Cameron, lasagna, vino tinto.

Rented a bike for the ride to Ek Balam, but took a few wrong turns, and the heat got to me, so finished the ride in a taxi with my bike in the trunk. Nice ruins, with some very well preserved stuccoed reliefs, and quite a few tourists as well. Now waiting to see if I can get back to town with the same taxi, then bike to two close cenotes: Samulá and X-Keken.
Able to take same taxi back to town and visit the cenotes. Mob scene, a zillion vendors, cenotes not all that great. Biked back to town, cooled off, dinner at a nice little restaurant nearby: great pasta. And so passes Xmas day.
