Nov 17, 2019: Homestay at Adriana’s, Orosi.
Bus to Tartago, where I was met by Asdrubal Navarro, and driven to his modern two-bedroom house, where his wife Andrea prepared a terrific lunch of chayote, patacon, mixed green salad, avocadu, and chicharrón. Lazy afternoon discussing possibility of hiking Mt Chirripó (the highest mountain in Costa Rica: 3820 m). The plan is to spend next Thursday night at his home, then drive to the mountain on Friday, climb it, and be back by Sunday.
They very kindly drove me back to Orosi where they met my family. Asdrubal enjoyed speaking Portuguese with Thomas.
