With that, he comes back in the middle of winter to see me. He brought an engagement ring with him. I met him over at the Cincinnati airport. We went to some hotel dining room, cocktail room, and he puts this ring on me and says, “now no backtalk. We’re engaged now. “I kind of liked being boss, suddenly somebody took charge. So I came home and he spent two nights in our house, and then we told my mother and father that was, I think in January.

How did she react? 

My mother was fine. She liked him. She thought he was a nice guy. I think she was pleased. But then she kept saying “what are you going to do about Nathan? “And I still hadn’t told him. And I had the ring, and I didn’t wear it, I just had it there, and I went out with Nathan . Dawn and I plan to get married in June. Dan called up and said he didn’t want to wait, let’s get married at Easter vacation. So we had a quick wedding in March, when I see a quick one we had eight bridesmaids. Oh, it was one of the biggest weddings you’ve ever seen, and it was awful because his mother and father came.. they were Christian scientists. There was liquor all over the place. My mother didn’t realize what Christian scientists were. I won’t go into the wedding fights. Anyway, we got married and I was terribly frightened. I did not have the feeling when I married him of great love or anything. All of a sudden it all went. You know, the machine restarted. He came and got married and went to a hotel. And here I’m still a virgin, all of a sudden, and he was too. We were both nervous and tired from the round of parties.
