I think so, yes. I did that all the time, doing that first year when I was getting my friends, I had lots of friends that I talk to very, very intimately about my life with Don, and everything that was happening, just talked about him, my mother was there, was totally talked about, and I think that was therapeutic. I’m sure it was boring for some people, but so many people would come – well, what’s new today? What’s happened today? and people would call me up, “oh, I saw them down at so-so place “, and everybody would report, about what was happening on the case.
Did you feel you had Support that way?
Oh yes. Marvelous, especially from his family, I don’t know why. Well, you know, they served him his papers on the golf course, you know, and so somebody had to call me and tell me his expression and how Maddie got. He was playing golf out at Pebble Beach in a tournament, and this little man came out and served him with some papers.
You must’ve enjoyed that one.
So all of that was good, I think, to talk about it.
Even so, you know you talk so much it sounds like…
I never got over it, you know, I never got it all out. So I went to Esalen, and a lot more resentment came out. And the kids came back from Washington, this time, they said they seen Don and talked about it. This time for the first time in years and years, I did not get upset or nervous or excited. It didn’t bother me. Living through it again. I don’t know why. It was a horrible controversy. Nobody was nice.
Well, you said the kids came back from Washington then, what are you talking about?
They just been to Washington.
Oh Len and Inger.
Len and Inger, yes. They came back and said they had seen Don.
