Gordon and Faith just sort of went together, but I don’t think they had a great life together, and so finally, here she was living, and one day, she said, she was going to take a weekend and go to Southern California. And everybody was just – hooray ! She left, she left Gordon, she went down to Southern California, for three days, and came back. She was very close to Sheila, as you know, and to Mary. Mary Neal, those three were very close. And when she came back, we all called her, and said, “what did you do? “She said, “I spent a lot of money. I stayed in a cheap hotel, I went to the races, she went to see a Marilyn Monroe movie, and she came back and Gordon was really glad to see her, after all. Wasn’t that nice. And we took her out to dinner one night. The first time in her whole life. You know, he really doesn’t move around for people, and the next thing we knew, it was over. She left.
She left him?
I think so. It was mutual, you know. From what I gather the same stove is there with the broken door on it, and he has to quit smoking. He used to smoke three packs a day. And I think it was tough on Faith, she had a good life out here, even if Gordie wasn’t so great, she had everybody else. It was a nice association. We all liked her. And we used to see her. She comes back out on visits, she comes and stays with Sheila. But now she’s preoccupied. And her kids are gone and married, and their nice kids, and I don’t know how Candice stand it. Isn’t it funny? The number of men that have these young ones, and you know, he doesn’t look like he could cope with a young woman. He sort of chic. Did you know him very well?
