Ireland: Aughnanure Castle to Kylemore Abbey

Drove Richard to the train station in Galway, then on to Aughnanure Castle. Built in the late 1500s, it is a six story tower house:

Until I reached Kylemore Abbey, in County Galway. Originally built as a Victorian castle, it later became a Benedictine abbey, and is still home to a small community of nuns:
Nearby is a neo-Gothic church, built by its owner, Mitchell Henry, in memory of his wife, who died young while traveling in Egypt:
