North of Bali and East of Borneo is the strangely shaped Indonesian island of Sulawese (formerly Celebes), which Nicole and I visited just for the hell of it. We were in a region populated by Torajans, known for their elaborate funeral rites, burial sites carved into rocky cliffs, and massive peaked-roof traditional houses known as tongkonan:
