Went past Arch Rock Spring by mistake. Ended up at 2346, leaving 43 miles to White Pass - 2 days? Yesterday hiked to 2369, today hiked 23. Woo woo!
Rained all last night , & most of today. Dried out a bit at Camp Urich cabin, with Glitter Gal (“not Litter Gal”, she was quick to explain). Her hiking pal proposed to her on Mt. Whitney.
Hope Dana was able to hitch down from Snoqualmie Pass & catch his plane back from Seattle. Spent our last night & morning together pigging out and drying out. Really got wet because the rain fly was pitched badly.
Lost my 2011 hiker cloth today -damn! And my dark glasses holder.

End: 2321, 25 miles! Getting up and going by 6:15 helped, as did hiking until 6:30. Technique: as day nears end, ask northbound hikers where good camp spots are (works for water, too). Who needs guide books? Tomorrow: only 18 to White Pass!

Made last 18 m to White Pass by 4 PM. Reprovisioned at market, bought huge pizza ( $21) and shared it with two other hikers. We all camped next to store.

Up and on the trail early. Made it over amazing Goat Rocks trail by 6 - camping near quite a few other hikers.

2284, 19 miles. May not make it to Trout Lake in two more days. But this was one of the toughest days of all.

Water Boy. Met me while I was provisioning. Decided he wanted to join me. Ran home, returned with his supplies, raring to go. Turns out he was a fine companion. And how about his sleeping cave?
