Oct. 22, 2016. Hostal Ananay, La Paz, Bolivia.
Into the hostel by 6:30, but learned that I can't book for either the bike ride or Tiwanaku on the same day, so it looks like a day of nothing. Well, a day of laundry and taking it easy, which might not be such a bad idea. We'll see how it goes...
It went very well. Got all my laundry done, booked my bike ride for tomorrow morning, got more money from the ATM, and booked my bus La Paz > Arica: right side front seat. However, no night buses, because of the border crossing, so I leave Tuesday at 6 AM, arriving around 10 PM: 16 hours, yikes! Here's hoping the scenery is nice. The cost was only about $13, which proves I should have shopped around for the bus from Uyuni to La Paz.
Discovered I misplaced my razor, deodorant, and comb somehow. Getting old, Edwards.
Also: accidentally came across the Museo de Etnograffa y Folklore, and it was wonderful: terrific display of weavings from around the country, and, even better, a room full of fiesta masks. I photographed dozens, and did a video going from one to the next; the kids should love them.
