Quilotoa Loop
Aug. 26, 2016. Llullu Llama Mountain Lodge, Isinlivi, Ecuador.
Another great day of walking, still plenty of steep scrambles, but I am slow and cautious, and have hardly lost my step. Again, fabulous scenery - took lots and lots of pictures. Surprise: the guesthouse had several other hikers, and by the time dinner was served, there were about 30 of us, all doing the loop counter-clockwise. Lots of Germans. Met a lovely couple, Niklas and Sandra Berlemann, who had been traveling all over S. America for many months - we exchanged email addresses. They are maybe interested in sailing one day, and I told them about our adventure - may hear from them again.
Best part of Llullu's: the St. Bernard, world's friendliest dog, who likes to tussle with the local llama, who likes it, too.
Really good meal, everything homemade and vegetarian.
Composting toilet with a great view over the valley.
