Aug 28, 2016.  Hostal Oasis, Riobamba, Ecuador.

• A bit overcast, with volcanoes partially obscured by clouds, during bus ride.  Green fields, barley, corn, wheat, lots of cows.  Changed buses in Ambato.  Taxi to hostel.  $18, including breakfast.  Nice room with private shower.  No other guests.  Walked to town - everything closed except Mercado, where I enjoyed a wonderful meal of cerdo asado (roast pig) and another great juice of another unknown fruit: $4 total.  Taxi back to hostel ($1.50, though he asked for $2), watched bad TV, asleep by 9: big hike up Chimborazo tomorrow.
