4. Guadalajara. Nov 14, 2015. Fabiola (my Spanish teacher) sent me a link to a documentary on “Huicholes: The Last Peyote Guardians”, from Huejuqilla. Must visit! Also mentioned the village of Nayar (take a bus to Tepic, then a long walk), a Huichol village. She is wonderfully patient, always smiling, many years’ teaching experience - an absolute pleasure to be taught by her. I hope my "progress" is not too disappointing for her.

One night was plenty: so bad, it didn't even have running water.

Look ma - I can fly!
Met Nicola Corona at main plaza, took a taxi with him to do Guadalajara by night. Taxi left us off beside a bar with music. Danced with around 5 large, middle-aged women in a room with no fans and no air conditioning. Fun! Then walked all over central Guadalajara - lovely, big open plazas. (Trick photo: the beers were really not that big).
The next morning I landed a hostel on Guadalajara's the main plaza - clean, comfortable, cheap. And it even had running water! (no way I was going to stay in the Tlaquepaque loser hotel another night).
Visited the Hospicio Cabanas in Guadalajara. Built as an orphanage and hospital, the Hospicio Cabanas is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It contains 57 frescoes by Orozco, considered his best work:
