Feb 8, 2019. Hotel la Palma, La Palma, El Salvador ($20).
Hanging out in a coffee shop with great lattes. La Palma is full of wall art by Fernando Llort and his followers - lots of photos. Tempting to buy two sopresas, since I won’t be going to Llobasco, where they are made. Also a tiny framed painting of a turquoise-browed motmot, the national bird of El Salvador.
Room is on a slope overlooking the forest - there’s even a swimming pool. My room’s walls are covered with delightful colorful designs. Another slow, lazy day.
Plan: San Ignacio > Rio Chiquito <> hike Cerro el Pital > meal at Hotel- Restaurante El Pital Lecho de Flores (or another in the area) > San Ignacio for the night.
