Feb 1, 2019. Hostal Casa Verde ($25), Santa Ana, El Salvador.
I’m getting to figure out this stretch of El Salvador: sleep late, do my morning stretches, (every other day to my pushups), find a good breakfast spot, return to brush and floss teeth, then head out to next little town.
Today I hit up Ataco, Ahuachapan and Chalchuapa (with pre-Hispanic Tazumal nearby) before settling in Santa Ana. Road is pretty good, distances quite short, scenery ok (although for a Ruta de las Flores it could use a few more flores). Great restaurants though, reasonable hotels, fine warm clear weather (no rain for months, in fact). Lots of free time to nap in the afternoons and watch downloaded videos in the evenings. Good coffee and ice cream easier to find. Not really much to see - every town has its market and Central Park, and they all look the same.
