The guide that Libby had arranged for me arrived the next morning after breakfast, and off we went, four hours of following trails and enjoying miradors at Área Natural Única Los Estoraques.
Walking among the pillars, I would sometimes have to squeeze between them, they were so close together.
This trail led to a tall tree, a member of the avocado family, which somehow managed to grow in a tiny space.
My guide then led me to the top
For a panoramic view.
Truly magnificent formations, and all to ourselves: there were no other visitors to the park.
Later we hiked out of the town.
and to the Mirador de Los Pinos (which would have been a great place to camp!)
with another fine view of the valley
Returned, took a shower, a nap, and then a big late afternoon meal prepared by Libby. Now sitting in the town square in front of the church - the only person here. A lonely, quiet, but beautiful place.
