Enough with Carnaval! I need a break. So I have decided to go to the beach with my Airbnb host Martha and two of her friends.
The beach she chose, Puerto Vellero, is about 30 km south of Barranquilla. It is long, shallow, flat, and grey (and muddy after a few feet into the water), and it is lined with grass-roofed open cabañas.
It is very windy, perfect for the half dozen kite boarders I watched. I brought bread, ham & cheese, while the ladies chose fresh fish to be cooked and delivered to our table.
So not many pictures, no real action, just a lazy day by the sea. I spent most of the time in a hammock, while the ladies yacked the entire time. Just what I needed after the Carnaval. That’s it for today!
