Up at 5:00, downhill all the way, trail often invisible because of foliage. Lots of beautiful flowers. Last 6 miles alongside Klamath river on road. Made it to cafe 5 minutes before closing at 2, but decided to just buy stuff at adjacent market (1 lb ham,1 lb cheese). Camped on lawn at R.V. park.
Elevation: 1500’. Water! Happy to be here in May/June, & not July/Aug, when it is supposed to be the hottest place on the PCT. Restaurant is voted (& was on TV) as one of the top ten places in the U.S. to pig out: eat 5 of their pancakes in 2 hours and get them for free. Only 6 have ever succeeded.
End point: 1662.1
Miles: 16
Hours: 8 (2 mph!)

Began day rising from big fat foam pad Mart let me use on their RV park lawn (I believe I was the only guest). Last night he came over with a free dinner of grilled chicken, green beans, and the world’s largest baked potato. Wouldn’t let me pay.
Didn’t try the pancake challenge.
Best wildflowers I've ever seen.
