Sep 22, 2016.  Rainbow Mountain; Hostal Soecia II, Cuzco, Peru.

Amazing day.  Up early to catch 4 AM bus for 3 hour bus ride, mostly on a dirt road, through a gorgeous valley, to a high plain with stone villages, herds of alpacas and vicuñas, and the start of the Rainbow Mountain trail: 3 hours to over 5,000 meters and a most amazingly colorful panorama.  Many on trail, some choosing to take a horse, some stopping for oxygen, some dropping like flies, occasional barf attacks by others, but mostly successful.  For me, the ride up by bus was worse than the hike - I felt sick from the ride, and not sure if a lower digestive track attack would take place (it didn't).  Back in town by early evening, and straight to bed.
