2019: Honduras

Feb 12, 2019.  D&D Brewery, Los Naranjos, Honduras ($17).

• This is more like it.  A couple of longish bus rides (each with a local really anxious to get to know me) and a tuk-tuk to this most wonderful of hostels.  Great home crafted beer, friendly, personable staff, in a lovely garden setting.  One other tourist - from Australia - and we agreed that this was a real find.  

• Signed up for a bird tour tomorrow at 6, and expect to sign up for more tours in the days ahead.  This is the place!  Lunch and again dinner: ceviche with tilapia from the lake (Lago de Yojua).  So good!  Washed down with the excellent local beer.  

Feb 13, 2019.   D&D Brewery, Los Naranjos, Honduras.

• Fabulous 4 hour bird-watching tour, in a rowboat with extremely knowledgeable guide and two tourists from Norway.  So many birds!  And such beautiful and wild jungle scenery!  Now back for lunch and a rest before checking out the Parque Eco-Arqueológico Los Naranjos next door.  Lots of creepers & epiphytes, and mosquitoes too - must get repellent!

• Tomorrow: walk to Bioparque Paradise, or bus / tour to Pulhapanzak waterfall?  So many choices... 

• Plans: San Pedro Sula > Tela > Lancetilla Jardin Botánico (stay in a cabin?) > La Ceiba / Garifuna Village > Río Cangrejal > Útila > Belize > Condo by March 10.
