Now I am alone, goodbye to my Colombian hosts! My first stop: Barichara, where I tried a local specialty, big ass or "big butt ant". One taste was enough for me.
But the city was charming, almost as beautiful as Villa de Leyva.
And my hotel, the Hotel El Cogollo, was really something.
It even had a pet macaw.
And a very strange swimming pool.
I walked to the nearby town of Guane, as cute as it can be.
It is known for its numerous fossils, which are embedded in the town square.
But nice as Barichara was, it was a little quiet for me. So to San Gil, the capital of Colombia's "extreme sports". But that is for next time. And I've decided that I won't send updates on Sundays, that's my day off. I will be back on Monday.
