Happy Monday everyone, I'm back. And now in San Gil, the capital of "extreme sports" in Colombia. I tried several: crossing a deep canyon riding a bicycle on a cable.
Cycling 50 km with two friends (each about a third of my age) in the Chicamocha canyon (the second largest in the world!)
And one afternoon playing Tejo, "The national sport of Colombia". You throw weights in a sandbox full of dynamite loads, hoping to set one off (I'm not kidding).
I even tried paragliding. But I decided not to try the craziest extreme sport of all, to rappel in a waterfall. That's not me in the video. You think I'm crazy? Actually, you better not answer that question.
But what I liked the most in San Gil was visiting the Piqueteadero Doña Eustaquia to try their famous chorizo cooked in guarapo (fermented sugar cane juice). I had an "extreme meal" of six chorizos like this (it tasted much better than it looks).
OK, that’s all for today.
